STA Traveler Deadline February 25th

So, of course the deadline for the STA world traveler internship is the 25th of February, and I still have yet to make a decent quick one minute video! ahh! my bad! I've been watching a number of peoples videos, and they're pretty good. I didn't know there were so many seasoned and well respected travelers out there. How the hell am I going to compete with them, when I'm stuck in the frozen tundra of Keene, NH and have such a limited amount of traveling footage and pictures? Yikes, well I guess I'll just have to rely on a charismatic personality and my boyish good lucks? Oh man, I better get going on that video. I mean I want to be a world traveler for the rest of my life right? This would be the best place to start, and from the looks of it, it is some seriously heavy competition. Check out the site at www.worldtravelerinternship.com

You read and watch on the website, while I keep trying to not procrastinate and figure out how to come up with the best one minute original video of my life within the next 24 hours! Yikes! Wish me luck!

Say

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGGez0CObXs
So the link above, I cannot stop listening to. "Say" by Method Man seems to be such a smooth jam. The kind of song that just makes you feel all warm inside. So apparently I keep going about a week to week for each blog, so I promise I'll make it up to you, and start writing more each week! I'm still applying for the STA world traveler internship and I'll keep you posted on the updates. At least springtime is coming, get ready for it! And listen to that jam up there^^

I don't get it.

I don't get frats. Some of the fellows kids here on campus are all pledging. And I should totally rephrase myself. I don't get Greek Life. What's the point of being abused or hazed just to be able to call myself brothers with a bunch of dudes? Same with the women, I've head of some nasty stuff going on to girls as well. Such as wearing a cowbell for a full month straight just to be able to hear the pledges when they're walking around campus. Other brawls that have occured in basements that include a bunch of guys beating the shit out of each other just to come back to each others rooms at the end of the day asking to do, "who wants to do keg stands brah?"

Never have I heard of a good explanation for Greek Life. The remaining answers I hear are, oh it's a great way to meet people and form long lasting relationships with people in college. That's cool, but there's other ways to just be friendly and meet people. I just don't get it, maybe it's because I'm not in one? Somebody please explain it to me.

It's a great jam, and I suggest you really get into this band. This kind of groove keeps me moving all day despite the wintry weather and negative temperatures. The vibes it gives off are nothing but positive and I love it. Anyway, I'm in a wonderful mood, I am in the midst of creating an application for the annual STA World Traveler Internship. You can find all the information here, and I'd hurry if you are going to apply, the deadline is February 25th.

Another awesome opportunity to do some traveling for free! I'm really excited and looking forward to an open call they are having in Boston. If I were you I'd continue to check this out, because it's such a great opportunity, and even their normal website www.statravel.com has sick deals on travel plans all around the world for students of any sort. Check it out! back with more info!

Unleashing Potential

So, here I am. Back with ya a week after my last post. Hmm, if I'm ever going to get nice and famous with this blog stuff, I'll probably have to write in it more than once a week eh? So today being the 8th of February, everyones mind begins to shift towards Valentines Day. For those of us without someone on this Capitalistic holiday, it can certainly suck. Don't sweat it though, you've always got your lovely ex to think about I'm sure.
Which brings me to my next point. I always tend to lose motivation a bit in the winter, and generally more tired. It sucks, so how do you keep up the energy and unleash your true productive self as you most likely do when it's warm outside? Please do tell your secrets in the comment box below! I usually stick to the same routine, but it doesn't do it justice, as when I do the same activities when it's warm outside. Hmmm. Well at least my Journalism professor has assigned me boat loads of work to do for the next month until it gets above freezing. Don't worry my friends, soon the rioting in Egypt will be over, and it will once again get warm in the North East sometime before June.Stay warm, and active, talk to you before next week I promise! - Cam

The Dead Don't Argue

So very interesintg! Egypt! who would have thought things would have gone such awry over there. I feel like I've dropped the ball a considerable amount on my daily blog postings, and I sincerely do apologize. Perhaps the copius amounts of alcohol, and snowboarding have taken up my time, and kept me away from reading the Huffington Post everyday. Meanwhile here at Keene State, We've had a two snow days in a row, so stir crazy aside, let's get down to a weekly recap.

Egypt, may soon explode due to an incumbent leader who's been in power over 30 years. I just read a fact on the Washington Post that over two thirds of the country have never known another leader. Amidst the protests he still refuses to resign! But what Mubarak? has instead decided to do, is shutdown Twitter, Facebook, and a number of other media outlets. Even Al-Jazeera here in the US has been curtailed. Really interesting stuff, and I'd urge you all to go check it out, just google it and the stuff you will find is truly fascinating.
On a related side note, I'm trying to find more of an alleyway for this blog to dive into, I keep touching upon random topics, but my personal favorite, and one that's easily debated is always current events. I'll keep my postings/headings of articles always as interesting lyrics from songs. But enough with my personal life postings? Who cares? I really don't. Current Events is the new thing. Back to watching Al-Jazeera! Eeeeyalata folks!
