Commencement. The day that college gives you a diploma and the usual swift kick in the ass all while pointing to the exit sign at the entrance to your private institution.
Must be nice to finally get that degree and know that you'll be more than a few thousands dollars in debt. Not to be all negative here, it's been a wonderful day here in Keene, New Hampshire. So many bright young faces filled the quad all with the eagerness to finally walk and shake the hands of their professors and officially become alumni.
Other than the spots of rain that soaked the crowd for about half an hour, the quad was filled to the brim with hundreds and thousands of relatives all waiting to hear their relatives name called as they receive their congratulatory handshakes. It's been a very surreal feeling for most, all of my friends thus far have seemed extremely freaked out but ecstatic beyond belief. It's a weird feeling to know that some of your best friends and classmates are now done with college. Regardless of the amount of stress almost all of these kids have endured at some point in their college career, it's great to sense the vibe that everyone has put out today. Not one negative person did I see today, and the fact that it still remains to be beautiful outside at 7:30 pm is even more of a plus.
I'm sure that everyone who graduated today, regardless of their lifestyles in the future will remember this day forever, and everyone that was a part of it will surely have something awesome to say about it. These college graduations just leave you with the feeling that finally, after all these years, that everything is going to one day be just fine.
