Everyone gets their fifteen minutes of fame.

Now Renegades are the people, with their own philosophies, they change the course of history, everyday people like you and me.

Zack De LaRocha said those words amidst one of my favorite Rage Against the Machine songs titled, 'Renegades of Funk.' Now after a brief talk with my dad, and the fifteen minutes or so I've been listening to Rage Against the Machine, I've decided to log my thoughts down and figure out how to essentially 'build the fire' and begin structuring the path of my life. Now I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to be doing 6 months from now, let alone next week, but the one thing I'm pretty sure of is that everyone gets their fifteen minutes.

You all remember that saying of 'everyone gets their fifteen minutes of fame' right? Of course you do, your parents probably said it while watching some interview on the news channels when you were a kid. Anyway, everyone has that chance of someday getting famous and being a movie star, or being an astronaut, or just being rich when they grow up, yet not everyone aspires to chase those dreams they had as a kid. Who really wants to be famous anyway?

My interpretation of the fifteen minutes of fame is not something that everyone gets equally. I'd argue that those fifteen minutes of fame is something you have to constantly re-create, you've got to keep the fire going in a way. (My dad just said you can't sit in a front of a cold fire waiting to get warm) And that's exactly what I'm talking about here. It's all about the passion, and the people you see out there hustling and putting in the hard work and time to get there will get there. It's not about waiting to be picked up off the street and suddenly get famous (although it does happen) but through perseverance and trying enough times, anyone can make it to where they want to go.

Hmm just some more thoughts that I've somehow translated back to my blog. What do you think about the chance that 'Everyone gets their fifteen minutes?' Does it exist?
