Offer to write for Blue Skies Mag.

I just got a twitter message today asking if I wanted to submit articles for publishing for Blue Skies Mag. This is big news. Here's the letter I sent to the editor asking what she wants for articles. Check out their website in the meantime. www.blueskiesmag.com . Hopefully this turns out to be the incredible opportunity I've been hoping for, all I have to do is write some kick ass articles about skydiving stuff. Sounds easy enough right? Wouldn't be too hard if I had more than a year and a half in the sport. Yikes, guess it's time to brush up on my skydiving history and miscellaneous info...Here's what I wrote to the editor.

Hello Lara,
I got a message from Kolla today via twitter about contributing to Blue Skies Mag. I was beyond stoked to read that message and I'd love to submit articles for print. I'm a newly licensed jumper with only a year and a half in the sport with 53 jumps currently and I'm in my second year working at Skydive New England up in Lebanon, Maine. Also I'm a journalism major at Keene State College in New Hampshire, with one more year to go and my goals are to travel, write, chuck tandems as soon as possible and continue on with my sarcasm as I traverse the world. Now, I understand writing for magazines is a bit different than writing for newspapers and such so I figured I'd ask what it is your exactly looking for. I read the contribute aspects page on the Blue Skies Mag website. But in terms of physical stories I figured going with what I know (manifest stuff and new jumper stuff, and other miscellaneous stories from DZ's) would be a great way to start. Also, my good friends named Kyle Jervis and Harry Parker from SNE take amazing photographs and I figured with their help we could give Blue Skies mag an incredible showing from the North East for quite some time. Obviously payment is nothing we're concerned about, as it would be an honor to write for Blue Skies. If you'd like to just shoot me an e-mail back regarding more specifics of what you're looking for, I'd be happy to start hitting you with some articles by the end of the week! Thanks again for this awesome opportunity! - Cam King @ Skydive New England. (A-060620)
