I just came across a particularly good article about Matt Damon and President Barack Obama.
The article was mostly speaking about how Matt Damon, among a horde of other Hollywood stars, endorsed then Senator Obama for President. No doubt that majority of these endorsements led to huge successes in Barack Obama's presidential conquest, and allowed him to flourish in the midst of change. But former President George W. Bush already saw an epic collapse and failure of the American economy looming. Even before Barack Obama's first term, many investors, and people high up on Wall St. saw the coming colapse. Read any major news article source from a few years back about the coming crises that we faced, and are now coping with.
This in turn has led much of a dropy task on current President Obama. Even in the news pictures and media, he appears weary. Dragged down by negative nancy Republicans in the senate and the house of representatives. There has been, to say the least, much disinterest in Obama as of late. Perhaps even a load of disappointment. Yet, he obviously will be running for re-election in 2012 against what looks like could be Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich. (We'll save the Gingrich article for later)
My thoughts have been unclear until I read this Matt Damon article. Damon, who has appeared in articles at least in my time, since the first term of George W. Bush, seems to have a good holding of political ideas on his side. Without re-quoting the article I'm first going to suggest you go off to www.huffpost.com and brush up on your daily dose of American politics. Damn, Scarlett Johannsen, and a host of other stars in Hollywood often voice their opinions. What I especially liked about Damon, who avidly campaigned for Obama's first election to President, was that 3 years later he said, ""You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better."
That was a ballsy statement Matt Damon.
At the same time, I feel his anger. While this quote does not entirely represent what Matt Damon said in a recent interview with the Huffington Post, I see where he is coming from. Obama could have came out swinging, pissing Republicans off, but in his first term as President, he seemed to roll over when it came to the real tough stuff. John Boehner didn't help much, nor did other Republicans and even Democrats. One man can only do so much and if Barack Obama gets re-elected to a second term, let's hope he takes the gloves off and shows America what change really can mean in the era of 10% unemployment and the times when corporate banks have become too big to fail.
